I snapped so many thousands of pictures wandering New York City as a teen. I remember an excitement about exploring black and white, how it changed the way my lens took in the world. Taking macro shots of discarded cigarettes like it was a novel idea. Snapping strangers mid-mannerism like it wasn’t invasive. Time has worn away the excitement about most of those images, but I still like this one.
