A place I once called home.
I stand at the threshold, hesitant to enter. It's been so long since I've been here, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to face the memories.
But I have to go inside. I need to see it one last time.
As I step through the door, I'm assaulted by the memories. They hit me like a wave, and I have to brace myself against the wall to stay standing.
I see my mother's smiling face, and then I see her lying on the floor in a pool of her own blood. I see my father's body hanging from the ceiling, and I see the look of terror in his eyes.
I see my brother being dragged away by the monsters. I see myself, huddled in the corner, trying to make myself as small as possible.
The memories are too much, and I start to scream. I can't take it anymore. I have to get out of here.
I run towards the door, but it's like the room is mocking me. The door is further and further away, no matter how hard I run.
I'm trapped in here, and I can't escape the memories.
