'Going out has been something of inconvenience as of lately partially due to the flu that has been going around. By law we are required to wear helmets as face masks are not enough to protect us from the disease. The flu has been going around for weeks, maybe even a few months now. Symptoms start with a burning sensation in the lungs followed by a high fever and then death. It's gruesome and it's taken many lives. We've quarantined ourselves in our homes, only going out when we need to and even then we are very careful.
The only reason I leave home is for church, it's something that brings me comfort in these dark times. It's one of the only constants in my life now. As I walk to church, I am careful to avoid any contact with anyone. I keep my distance and I don't allow myself to get too close. We are all carriers of the disease, and it's only a matter of time before one of us gets sick.
I am one of the lucky ones, I have yet to get sick. But many of my friends and family have not been so lucky. The death toll is rising every day, and there is no end in sight. We are all living in fear, not knowing when our time will come.
But despite the darkness that surrounds us, we still have hope. We cling to our faith, and we pray for a miracle.'
